八仙塵爆事件進入第10天，衛福部長蔣丙煌6日赴立法院向立法院長王金平與朝野黨團進行專題報告後續醫療處置。王金平會後表示，根據檢討結果，現行《緊急醫療救護法》已足因應，沒有修法必要，要求行政部門應依法處理，立法院會全力支持。
關於有薪假的部分，民進黨立委陳其邁轉述說，蔣丙煌在會中已同意，會找勞動部研究，讓一般勞工家屬也可以放有薪的家庭照護假。至於來台協助的日本醫師，陳其邁也說，現行教學醫院內都可以在旁協助指導，法律上不會有問題。
蔣丙煌會後受訪表示，未來傷患整體照顧方案，以「一人一案，長期陪伴」為方針，希望全方面照顧病患乃至於家屬。
王金平表示，過去SARS（嚴重急性呼吸道症候群）、八八風災等重大事件，立法院都全力協助政府扮演積極角色，希望行政單位迅速提出有效方案。
王金平說，現在的災害都是複合式災害，為有效防災、救災與復原，過去立法院就曾建議政府設置防、救災專責機構，平時演練各項緊急應變機制，隨時發揮有效指揮統籌調度，以達迅速救災及復原，但現在只有臨時性任務編組，塵爆事件印證先前建議防救災機構重要性，政府應嚴肅認真面對。
